Geoje Island

Last weekend David and I went to Geoje Island. This Island is around 100 KM from Changnyeong. It is a very nice part of Korea. We spent the weekend visiting varies tourist destinations. It was nice even though it was a little deserted as it was out of season.

Haein Temple

As I bought a new camera we thought it would be a great idea to visit Haein Temple to practice using my camera. Haein Temple is very pretty. I am not sure if I captured it though!

Samgyetang

Today David and I ate Samgyetang. Samgyetang is a soup, which primarily consists of a whole chicken and Korean ginseng. The chicken is also stuffed rice. It is delicious!

Pet Cafe in Daegu

David and I have previously been to a dog cafe, a cat cafe and a cafe with a sheep it, in Seoul. Today we went to a pet cafe in Daegu. It was really good. You pay 6,000 won (£3.50) for entry and a drink and you get to spend time with cats and dogs! The first floor of the cafe was full of cats and the second floor was full of dogs. I preferred playing with the dogs!

1st March Independence Day

Today commemorates the March 1st movement in 1919. On March 1 of this year, the Korea people declared their nation's independence from the Imperial Japan.

Today David and I went to our neighbouring village, Yongsan to take part in the celebrations. Here they held a mini festival.
